Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) has opened its doors to job seekers with a fresh round of hiring for September 2026. As a public sector utility functioning under the Ministry of Energy’s Power Division, PESCO plays a vital role in supplying electricity across its jurisdiction, and this new recruitment drive offers a solid opportunity for engineers, finance professionals, and technical experts looking to build a career in the power sector.

If you are exploring government job openings in Pakistan this month, this PESCO announcement deserves your attention. Here is everything you need to know, broken down in a simple and organized way.

About PESCO and This Hiring Drive

PESCO is inviting applications from qualified candidates to fill several posts on a contract basis with a lump sum pay structure. It is important to note upfront that these positions do not carry any promise of future regularization, so candidates should apply with that understanding in mind.

Available Positions and Requirements

A total of 46 posts are up for grabs across eight distinct roles. Here is a quick rundown:

SDO or Junior Engineers make up the largest chunk of openings, with 31 posts reserved for candidates holding a BSc in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, ideally with a Power Engineering focus, along with registration from the Pakistan Engineering Council.

Assistant Manager (Accounts) has a single opening for candidates with a CA Inter, CMA Inter, ACCA membership, or an equivalent commerce or finance degree, plus two years of relevant post qualification experience.

Assistant Manager (Material Management) offers four seats for those holding degrees in Physics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Commerce, Business Administration, Computer Science, or Engineering.

Revenue Officer also has four vacancies with similar academic requirements as the Material Management role.

Assistant Manager (PSA/CO) is a specialized technical post requiring a master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Software Engineering, along with a passing score of at least 60 percent in a professional aptitude and technical test.

Assistant Manager (Environment) calls for candidates with an engineering or science background in environmental studies, along with a minimum of two years of relevant experience.

Junior Engineer (Civil) has three posts open for BSc Civil Engineering graduates.

Assistant Manager GIS rounds out the list with one position for candidates holding a master’s in GIS or Electrical Engineering with a postgraduate diploma in GIS and at least three years of related field experience.

The age bracket for all these roles falls between 21 and 33 years, with some relaxations available for government employees and candidates from scheduled castes or minority communities.

Regional Quotas Matter

PESCO has allocated seats across various regions and categories, including Punjab, Punjab Women, Punjab Minority, Sindh Rural, Sindh Urban, Sindh Urban Women, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and FATA. Candidates should check carefully which quota applies to them before applying, since this can affect eligibility and competition levels.

Step by Step Application Process

Getting your application in correctly is just as important as meeting the qualification criteria. Here is how the process works:

First, head over to the official ETEA website and complete your online application for the post you are interested in.

Once you submit the form, the system will generate a deposit slip containing your token number, project code, and personal details.

Print that slip and pay the required test fee through Easypaisa, an authorized agent, or any UBL Bank branch. This fee is non refundable, so double check your post selection before paying.

Keep your original bank stamped deposit slip safe and do not hand it over to anyone else.

There is no need to mail your documents or testimonials to the ETEA office at this stage. You will only be asked to submit these later if you clear the screening test.

Applications opened on the 17th of September 2026, and the closing date for submissions is the 7th of October 2026. Make sure you do not miss this window.

Once your application is processed, ETEA will notify you by SMS to download and print your roll number slip, which will also list your test date, time, and venue.

A Few Important Reminders

Every candidate must register on the ETEA portal and get their CNIC verified through an NADRA E Sahulat kiosk before applying. Skipping this step means you simply cannot proceed with your application.

Candidates already working in government or semi government departments need to apply through the proper channel rather than directly. Also, if you are interested in more than one post, you will need to submit a separate application and pay a separate fee for each one.

For anyone holding a foreign degree, an equivalent certificate from the Higher Education Commission will be required as part of the process.

Final Thoughts

This PESCO recruitment drive presents a genuine opportunity for engineers and professionals across multiple disciplines to join a major public sector utility. With the deadline set for early October, interested candidates should start preparing their documents and completing their online applications without delay. Staying organized with your paperwork and following each step of the ETEA process carefully will go a long way toward a smooth application experience.
